Writer's Block Be Gone...It's a Lightbulb Moment!

Just finding this cute little idea was a lightbulb moment for me...like...HA, where have you been all my life.  It really doesn't take much to make this girl happy. Breeze blowing through the windows, the smell of rain, a cool pillow and Clean Sheet Sunday...oh, and a good idea found somewhere in blogland.

That somewhere was on Mrs. Plum's cute little blog There's No Place Like Second Grade please be sure to head on over and follow her she's full of great ideas just like the one I ran out and duplicated myself!

Bad camera moment...okay, it's not the camera, it's really me.  I have NO photography abilities whatsoever.  You could put a million dollar camera in my hands and I'd still chop off a head or two.  It's genetic, my mom does the same darn thing.  My sister, on the other hand, is an amazing professional photographer...huh, go figure.  I still blame it on my genes.  So, all the more reason to head over to Mrs. Plum's blog because, SHE, apparently has mastered the click of the camera!

The lightbulbs are those squishy stress balls and can be found at....gotta guess?  Target!!! {dollar spot of course}  I grabbed the last four at mine...it was like winning the Mega-Millions or something...I was that happy! I'm going to put mine in my writing area for those moments when the kids are lacking in ideas and need a little help finding that lightbulb moment!  Genius!

The lightbulbs next to the lightbulbs were my bright idea - HA! Yeah, so I was heading toward the checkout when something caught my eye down another aisle.  I'm sure that never happens to you at Target.  You're in and out - stick to the budget, right?  Not me...never happens.  I bought the cutest pair of sunglasses, a super adorable purse...found THE CUTEST wallet with a squirrel on it that  Missy Squirrels would have just loved and then I saw them...a string of lightbulb shaped lights.  I haven't decided exactly what I'm going to do with them, but I'm thinking maybe put them in my writing area "Where First Graders Think of Bright Ideas"....hmmm.....

How do you help your kiddos when they've hit a bit of writer's block?

  8. Very cute! I try to help my kiddos by giving them "magic pencils" (decorative newly sharpened pencils rather than regular #2 pencils) for their final copy. It may not give them an idea but it sure gives them an incentive.

  13. How fun! You have the best ideas Holly! And how come our Target doesn't have these cuties?! I have found LOTS (way to much if you ask my husband), but none of this cuteness! Love the string lights! Going to have to really "hunt" for them! :)
